Yucaï

As an only child, conditioned from early childhood by his father to one day succeed him as a noble celestial guardian, Yucai knows all too well the weight and constant pressure of familial expectations. And to avoid drawing unnecessary trouble upon himself, he becomes nothing but docile and obedient in his father’s presence. His gentleness and optimism are not too much to endure his father’s relentless demands without breaking beneath them.

But the moment his father turns his back, our cheerful little celestial lets his vibrant and lively nature express itself fully and sincerely. Well… almost fully sincerely, because under no circumstances must he reveal his very particular gender — his father’s orders. And this command, Yucai has always followed to the letter. At least, until the need of deeper connexions and the call of true love began to make itself heard...

Yucai is gentle, joyful, and always quick to tease and amuse others. Yet while he buries his own wounds and feelings behind the mask of humor, his eyes and heart remain wide open to the suffering of others, and he instinctively knows when someone needs kindness, comfort, or simply a reassuring presence.

He is also extraordinarily resilient, which has kept him from shutting himself away in bitterness and allows him to keep moving forward with kindness, hope, and optimism while viewing the world through eyes filled with tenderness and compassion. Moreover, he feels absolutely no shame about what he is, unlike his father, whom he deeply pities for being unable to see the beauty in all things.

About his "particular gender" :

This young Celestial has the body and physical traits of a male (albeit a rather small, cute, and delicate one), but they possess female reproductive organs... surprise !

However, they're forbidden from revealing it and are required to present themselves as male by order of their father. Said father is actually very ashamed of his "son's" particularity and is therefore planning a visit to Qìng to "fix" this "problem" permanently (without bothering to ask Yǔcǎi's opinion, of course x) ). Yǔcǎi, on the other hand, has absolutely no issue with who they are and no identity-related struggles. You can use any pronouns or gendered terms for them and they genuinely don't care. Even though they default to masculine terms, that's only because that's how their father raised and conditioned them.
So more than anything, they're dealing with parental pressure. But when their father isn't around, they feel much freer to be themselves and let their cheerful, playful, and optimistic nature shine through ^^
And in order to feel even freer to be their true self, they'll probably end up sneaking off behind their father's back to go down "below" and get into a little trouble that's strictly forbidden in the Celestial Realm :3
